Intel 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPU Confirmed to Be On Track

By | Samantha L. | January 12, 2022

The battle between Intel vs AMD for the performance throne has gone long enough, it seems like yesterday when Intel launched its new line of processors known as 12th generation Alder lake. The 13th generation of Intel broke all performance charts, as it was enlisted as the best gaming CPU lineup. Things will change with the new Raptor lake processors which are made using a 10nm Super Fin process known as Intel 7, with increased cache size and low heat production they are going to topple the market.

The specifications of Intel’s 13th generation Raptor Lake are showcased with its i9 variant. This processor showed 24 cores and 32 threads. The specification in comparison to core i9 12900K showed twice the core count than its predecessor but unfortunately, it was an engineering sample and we can’t come to a conclusion if the chip base frequency with stays the same that is 1.8GHz.

Intel Core-i9 13900K is Near:

As we all know that the Alder Lake doesn’t officially support the AVX-512 instructions but motherboard vendors managed to leave a few loose ends, as AVX-512 can be enabled in a hybrid chip with the bios update.  Intel recently rolled out a new microcode to completely disable the AVX-512 instructions, we are sure to see some improvements from intel, as the 13th generation also utilizes the same technology as the 12th generation Alder Lake. However, it would be better not to get our hopes high, as there might not be any changes in this particular section.

It has been confirmed that the 13th generation Raptor Lake is under manufacturing, as it was confirmed by none other than the Executive vice president of Intel at CES 2022. Even though Raptor Lake isn’t quite here yet but their support is present in the latest intel drivers and .inf files which supports the Windows platform. This explains why Raptor Lake can be seen in Intel’s driver database.

It hasn’t been confirmed when the Raptor Lake is going to be launched in the market and as of now the only piece of information that we hold is that it will be launched in the second half of the year 2022. We estimate that the Raptor lake will be around the time when AMD is supposed to launch Ryzen Raphael Zen 4 CPUs expected to release in the second half of 2022.
